This collection consists of a digital master recording (plus a use copy) of the presentation "Rails to Penn State" given on July 12, 2007 by Michael Bezilla and Jack Rudnicki, co-authors of Rails to Penn State, the Story of the Bellefonte Central. This presentation, sponsored by the Pennsylvania State University Libraries Development Office, described the history of the Bellefonte Central Railroad in Centre County.

The Bellefonte Central short line railroad began in 1886 as the Buffalo Run, Bellefonte, and Bald Eagle Railroad, provided transportation for Centre County industries, iron manufacturing, limestone production, and lumbering. It was reorganized as the Bellefonte Central in 1892. After 1920, passenger service and coal transportation to Pennsylvania State University slowed the decline of the railroad, which closed in 1984.
